Midjourney Pricing 2026: Basic ($10), Standard ($30), Pro ($60) & Mega ($120)

Midjourney costs $10, $30, $60 or $120 a month for its Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega plans, or 20% less billed annually, and there is no free plan on its website. Using Midjourney's own GPU-time figures, one usable architectural image costs roughly $0.20 to $0.31 of Fast time under the assumptions below.

Midjourney Pricing 2026: Basic ($10), Standard ($30), Pro ($60) & Mega ($120)

Quick answer

Quick answer: Basic is $10/mo with 200 Fast GPU minutes, Standard is $30/mo with 15 hours plus unlimited Relax images, Pro is $60/mo with 30 hours and Stealth Mode, and Mega is $120/mo with 60 hours, per Midjourney's Comparing Midjourney Plans page. If you need a render of your own building rather than a mood image, Render a House is the no-GPU, browser-based alternative that turns a 3D model, sketch or photo into a render, starting free with 3 credits a day.

Updated Oct 2026.Every Midjourney figure on this page comes from Midjourney's own documentation, checked on 11 October 2026 and linked inline. Render a House figures come from our live plan configuration.

What each Midjourney plan includes

Basic — $10/mo

200 Fast minutes a month, 3 concurrent fast image jobs, SD video only, and no Relax mode, so when the Fast time runs out you either buy more or wait for renewal. It is the only plan where the subscription is a hard cap on output.

Standard — $30/mo

15 Fast hours plus unlimited image generation in Relax mode, SD and HD video, and up to 10-job repeat or permutation batches. Relax jobs run when GPUs are free, so they are slower than Fast jobs; Midjourney does not publish a guaranteed Relax wait time (checked Oct 2026).

Pro — $60/mo

30 Fast hours, Relax mode for images and SD video, 12 concurrent fast image jobs and Stealth Mode. Pro is the cheapest plan that keeps work private, and the entry plan for companies above Midjourney's $1M revenue line (covered below).

Mega — $120/mo

Everything in Pro with 60 Fast hours and 12 concurrent fast video jobs. It doubles Pro's Fast time for double the price, so the per-minute rate is the same as Standard and Pro.

How Midjourney meters GPU time

Midjourney sells GPU time, not images. Per its GPU speed article, Fast time resets at each renewal and unused time does not carry over to the next month; Turbo mode uses double the Fast time per image. Approximate GPU costs published there:

Approximate Midjourney GPU-minute cost per action
ActionApprox. GPU costFast-time cost on BasicOn Standard / Pro / Mega
SD prompt0.8 min$0.040$0.027
HD prompt (2048 px)1.3 min$0.065$0.043
Creative / Subtle upscale2 min$0.100$0.067
Edit Model HD prompt2.3 min$0.115$0.077
Batch of 4 SD videos8 min$0.400$0.267

The dollar columns are our division of each plan's price by its Fast minutes: Basic is $10 ÷ 200 min = $0.050/min; Standard is $30 ÷ 900 min = $0.0333/min, and Pro ($60 ÷ 1,800) and Mega ($120 ÷ 3,600) land on the same rate. Extra Fast time at $4 ÷ 60 min is $0.0667/min, twice Standard's rate. On Basic, 200 ÷ 0.8 gives about 250 SD prompts a month, or 200 ÷ 1.3 ≈ 153 HD prompts. The Version article confirms the 0.8 and 1.3 minute figures for V8.1 HD images.

Cost per usable architectural image

No architect keeps the first prompt. A façade or interior concept usually takes several prompts to land the massing, light and materials, then a full-resolution version of the keeper. Midjourney does not publish a retry rate, and neither do we, so the table below is an estimate built on stated assumptions, not a measured figure. Only the GPU-minute costs come from Midjourney; the prompt counts are ours. Swap in your own count.

Estimated Midjourney Fast-time cost per usable architectural image under three assumptions
Assumption per usable imageGPU minutesBasic ($0.050/min)Standard–Mega ($0.033/min)Extra time ($0.067/min)
Light: 3 SD prompts + 1 HD rerun3.7$0.19 · 54 / mo$0.12 · 243 / mo on Standard$0.25
Typical: 6 SD prompts + 1 HD rerun6.1$0.31 · 32 / mo$0.20 · 147 / mo on Standard$0.41
Heavy: 12 SD prompts + 1 HD rerun + 2 HD Edit Model fixes15.5$0.78 · 12 / mo$0.52 · 58 / mo on Standard$1.03

How to read it: in the typical case, 6 × 0.8 + 1.3 = 6.1 GPU minutes per kept image. On Basic that is 6.1 × $0.050 = $0.31, and 200 ÷ 6.1 ≈ 32 usable images a month. On Standard it is $0.20 each from Fast time, and Relax mode adds unlimited images at no extra charge if you can wait in the queue. Annual billing lowers every figure by 20%.

Two things move the real number more than the plan does. Upscaling an SD keeper costs 2 GPU minutes, and Midjourney's Upscalers article notes an upscale can cost about twice the GPU time of generating the initial image. Material or detail fixes in the Edit Model cost 2.3 GPU minutes per HD prompt, per the GPU speed article, which is why the heavy scenario climbs fast.

Costs beyond the subscription

  • Fast time expires monthly. Per Subscription Fast Time Expiration, unused Fast time vanishes at the end of each month on monthly and yearly plans alike.
  • Purchased hours expire after 60 days and are non-refundable, per Purchasing Extra Fast Time; they also need an active subscription to use.
  • The $1M revenue rule. Per Using Images & Videos Commercially, a business grossing more than $1,000,000 USD a year needs Pro or Mega to use images commercially. For a mid-size firm the real entry price is $60/mo, not $10.
  • Privacy costs Pro. Per the Stealth Mode article, private generation is only on Pro and Mega; on Basic and Standard your concept images for unbuilt projects are visible on the website.
  • Refunds are narrow. Per Requesting a Refund, you are eligible only if the account has used less than 20 GPU minutes in its lifetime.
  • Payment. Per Accepted Payment Methods, Midjourney takes cards and some wallets through Stripe; PayPal is not supported.

Is there a free Midjourney plan?

No. Midjourney's Free Trials article says no free trial is currently available in Discord or on midjourney.com; a limited trial exists only in the niji·journey mobile app. Paying subscribers can earn extra Fast time: per Earning Free Fast Time, the top 2,000 image raters each day get an extra hour, and awarded time expires after 30 days.

Render a House has a free plan: 3 credits a day at 1K resolution with a watermark, no card required to start.

Midjourney pricing compared to Render a House

Render a House is an AI rendering tool for architects and real estate. It runs in the browser with no GPU, and it starts from your own design: upload a SketchUp .skpdirectly, a GLB, GLTF, OBJ or STL model, a sketch, a photo, or a plan exported to PNG/JPG. Midjourney's Image Prompts article says uploaded images guide content, composition and colour as inspiration rather than being copied exactly.

Midjourney Mega$120 / mo ($96 annual)60 Fast hours, Relax, Stealth ModeSD prompt ≈ $0.027 Fast; $0 in RelaxText prompt plus optional reference images

Read honestly, Midjourney is cheaper per generated image: a Render a House Pro credit is $39 ÷ 240 = $0.163, several times an SD prompt's Fast-time cost. What you are paying for is different. A Midjourney image is a look; a Render a House render is your design with a look applied. Paid Render a House plans also include video, top-ups start at $5, and checkout is card-only.

Is Midjourney worth it for architects?

For moodboards, competition atmospherics and early style direction, yes: Standard at $30/mo with unlimited Relax images is hard to beat on cost per image, and our Midjourney for architectural rendering guide covers that workflow. It is weaker value when the image has to show a specific building, because each retry to recover your massing or window rhythm burns Fast time, and a firm over $1M in revenue pays $60/mo minimum.

If the job is rendering a design you already have, start from the model or sketch instead: try the architectural rendering tool free, or estimate a project with the render cost calculator.

Common questions about Midjourney pricing

How much does Midjourney cost per month?

Midjourney's plans comparison lists Basic at $10, Standard at $30, Pro at $60 and Mega at $120 per month. Billed annually they cost $96, $288, $576 and $1,152 a year ($8, $24, $48 and $96 a month), which Midjourney describes as a 20% discount paid upfront.

Is there a free version of Midjourney?

No free plan is listed, and Midjourney's Free Trials article says no free trial is currently available in Discord or on midjourney.com. A limited trial is available on the niji·journey mobile app. Subscribers can earn extra Fast time by rating images or taking surveys, and that time expires after 30 days.

How many images do you get with Midjourney Basic?

Midjourney meters GPU time, not images. Basic includes 200 Fast minutes a month, and Midjourney's GPU-speed docs put an SD prompt at about 0.8 minutes and an HD prompt at about 1.3 minutes, so plain division gives roughly 250 SD prompts or about 153 HD prompts a month before upscales, edits or retries. Unused Fast time does not roll over.

Which Midjourney plan do architecture firms need?

Midjourney's commercial-use article says a business grossing more than $1,000,000 USD a year needs a Pro or Mega plan to use images commercially, and its Stealth Mode article says private generation is only on Pro and Mega. A small practice under that revenue line can use Basic or Standard, but its images are public on the Midjourney website.

Is Midjourney cheaper than Render a House?

Per generated image, usually yes: a Standard plan SD prompt works out to about $0.027 of Fast time, while a 1K Render a House render costs 1 credit, about $0.16 on Pro. The difference is the input: Render a House renders your own SketchUp, GLB, OBJ or STL model, sketch or photo, while Midjourney treats uploaded images as inspiration rather than geometry to preserve.
