Runway Pricing 2026: Free, Standard ($15), Pro ($35), Max ($95) & Team ($69/seat)

Runway costs $15, $35 or $95 a month for its Standard, Pro and Max plans billed monthly, or $12, $28 and $76 a month billed annually. Team is $69 per seat per month ($55 billed yearly) from two seats, Enterprise is custom, and the Free plan gives 125 one-time credits. Every plan pays for generations in credits, so the real price depends on how many seconds of video you make. For architecture, Render a House is the more efficient alternative: it renders from your own design in the browser with no GPU; failed renders don't use credits, and each render includes up to 2 free retries if the result isn't right.

Runway Pricing 2026: Free, Standard ($15), Pro ($35), Max ($95) & Team ($69/seat)

Quick answer

Quick answer: per Runway’s pricing page, Free is $0 with 125 one-time credits; Standard is $15/mo billed monthly or $12/mo billed annually with 625 credits a month; Pro is $35/mo or $28/mo annually with 2,250 credits; Max is $95/mo or $76/mo annually with 9,500 credits; Team is $69 per seat per month or $55 per seat per month billed yearly, with 6,900 credits per seat. Figures per Runway’s pricing page and Team plan page. The yearly totals are our multiplication of the annual per-month price by 12; Runway states the savings as $36, $84 and $228 a year for Standard, Pro and Max. Runway’s Pro plan help article lists 500GB of storage for Pro while the pricing page shows 100GB; we use the pricing page.

What each Runway plan includes

Free — $0

125 credits once, a selection of models to test concepts and 5GB of storage. Per Runway’s Free plan article, the deposit does not expire or refresh and Free videos carry a Runway watermark. The credits guide lists credit purchases for paid plans only.

Standard — $15/mo

625 credits a month, access to all AI video and image models, five parallel generations, music, voice and sound-effect generation, up to 3 projects, no watermarks, 4K upscaling and 20GB of storage. Runway’s own Standard plan article calls it best for light, exploratory use rather than high-volume production.

Pro — $35/mo

2,250 credits a month, 15 parallel generations, up to 5 projects, one Brand Kit, one custom voice clone, credit top-ups, Runway MCP, unlimited 4K video upscaling and Topaz AI Upscale, per the pricing page.

Max — $95/mo

9,500 credits a month with up to one month of unused credits rolling over, 20 parallel generations, up to 10 projects, three Brand Kits, three voice clones, early access to new models, HDR, ProRes and image-sequence output, and 500GB of storage. Max is the only individual plan whose credits roll over.

Team — $69/seat/mo

Per the Team plan page, Team is for groups of two to nine people in one workspace and includes everything in Max. Each seat adds 6,900 credits a month to one shared pool with one month of rollover, plus up to 100 shared projects, 1TB of workspace storage, frame-accurate commenting, 24 parallel generations, API access and priority support. With the two-seat minimum, the entry price is $138 a month billed monthly or $1,320 a year billed yearly.

Enterprise — custom

Custom pricing and credits through sales, with unlimited members and workspaces, user roles and permissions, custom SSO, SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 compliance, no training on your data, and legal indemnification. Enterprise list prices: Not published (checked October 2026).

What a Runway credit buys

Runway’s credits guide says Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, so a 5-second clip costs 60 credits and a 10-second clip 120. The pricing page lists other models per generation: Aleph 2.0 at 140 credits per 5 seconds, Gen-4 Image at 8 credits per 1080p image and Nano Banana Pro at 20 credits per 2K image. Dividing each plan’s price by its credits gives the cost of one 5-second Gen-4.5 clip:

Cost of one 5-second Gen-4.5 clip (60 credits) on each Runway plan
PlanClips / monthPer clip, billed monthlyPer clip, billed annually
Standard10$1.44$1.15
Pro37$0.93$0.75
Max158$0.60$0.48
Team (per seat)115$0.60$0.48
Purchased creditsAs bought$0.60Same

Runway’s yearly comparison table lists the same rate: 125, 450 and 1,900 Gen-4.5 videos a year on Standard, Pro and Max. The per-clip prices are our arithmetic and assume every generation is kept; discarded attempts spend credits too. Runway’s pricing page gives two different Gen-4 Turbo rates: its seconds for Standard and Pro work out to 6 credits per second, its Max figure to 5, so we left Gen-4 Turbo out of the table.

Annual vs monthly billing

Annual billing is 20% off. Standard drops from $180 to $144 a year, Pro from $420 to $336 and Max from $1,140 to $912, which matches the $36, $84 and $228 savings on the pricing page. A two-seat Team goes from $1,656 to $1,320 a year, the $336 saving Runway shows. Per the credit rollover article, annual subscribers still receive credits monthly and they reset on each billing day, so paying yearly does not give you a year’s credits up front.

What costs extra

  • Extra credits. Per the rollover article, purchased credits start at $10 at $0.01 per credit and never expire; the credits guide sets a 1,000-credit minimum and makes them available on Standard, Pro, Max and Team, not Free.
  • Unused credits expire on Standard and Pro at each billing date; Max and Team roll over one month.
  • API usage is separate. The credits guide says credits bought in the Runway app are completely separate from Runway API credits.

Free plan, trial and student pricing

The Free plan is the trial; Runway’s Standard plan article calls it “the free trial”: 125 credits once, with watermarked video. A free trial of a paid plan: Not published (checked October 2026). For education, Runway’s education page and student and educator offer give 25% off any paid plan after SheerID verification, and up to 25% off classroom licensing for classes of 3 or more licenses. Whether the 25% stacks with annual billing: Not published (checked October 2026).

On commercial use, Runway’s commercial use article says what you create is yours to use without non-commercial restrictions from Runway, with no credit required.

When Runway makes sense, and when to consider an alternative

Runway makes sense when the deliverable is generated video: ads, social clips, multi-shot scenes, voice and music, or a team sharing one credit pool. Pro is the plan most solo creators will land on, and Max has the lowest cost per clip if you generate every week.

Consider an alternative when you need your own building, not a plausible one. Render a House is an AI rendering tool for architects and real estate. It runs in the browser with no GPU and renders from your design: upload a SketchUp .skp directly, a GLB, GLTF, OBJ or STL model, a sketch, a photo, or a plan exported to PNG/JPG. Renders take about 30–60 seconds, and a bad render gets up to 2 free retries.

Render a House is free with 3 credits a day at 1K resolution with a watermark and no card. Pro is $39/mo billed monthly or $312/yr ($26/mo billed annually). Video is on paid plans only, at 0.8 credits per second, so a 5-second clip is 4 credits. Projects can be shared by email with edit access, though there are no team seats or roles. Help is in the app’s Intercom chat and on the support page. Estimate a project with the render cost calculator or see plans and pricing.

Can I use Runway videos commercially?

Runway's help center says the content you create is yours to use without non-commercial restrictions from Runway, and you are not required to credit Runway. The article does not limit this to paid plans, but Free plan videos include a watermark.

Is Runway a good fit for architectural renders?

Runway is a general AI video and image tool. For a still or a short video of a design you already have, Render a House starts from your SketchUp .skp, GLB, GLTF, OBJ or STL model, sketch, photo or plan image, runs in the browser with no GPU, and is free with 3 credits a day at 1K with a watermark.
