Changelog
What's new in Render a House.
A running log of user-facing changes — new features, improvements, and fixes.
Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Improved
- More realistic renders that stay true to your drawing. We reworked how the first render from the questionnaire is generated: it reads less like CGI, and stays locked to your sketch's camera angle and geometry — no more accidental zooming, re-framing, or invented edges.
Fixed
- Various fixes. Small fixes across the questionnaire chat and the editor toolbar.
Monday, June 22, 2026
Improved
- Docs. New step-by-step 3D Scene guides — exporting your model (SketchUp, Revit/Leia), flattening terrain, positioning your model, and replacing it.

Improved
- Chat remembers your settings. When you open the chat to refine a render, it now starts from the model and resolution you last used instead of resetting to the defaults.
- Polished chat input. The input now squares off where it meets the chat panel so they read as one surface, with spacing fixes on mobile.
Fixed
- Lighting you describe is respected. If you ask for a night scene (or other lighting) in the questionnaire, your render now honors it instead of defaulting to daytime.

Improved
- Smarter chat panel. The chat stays anchored to the input and only follows new messages when you're already at the bottom — scroll up to read and incoming replies won't pull you down (with a button to jump back). Reopening the chat no longer reloads the thread.
- Angle changes guided to Copy Render. Asking the assistant to change a render's angle now points you to Copy Render (the reliable path) instead of attempting it inline and spending a credit on a no-op.

New
- 360° panorama views. Capture an immersive 360° view of your scene that you can pan in any direction, instead of a single framed shot. The Render button is now a split button — pick 360 from the menu to capture a panorama, and your choice sticks for the next capture.
Improved
- Faster, simpler render start. Analyzing your image after you upload it is now about 80% faster, so the render questionnaire is ready almost right away. We also dropped "Render directly" — the guided questionnaire gave better results, so it's now the single way in.
Fixed
- Non-image attachments in chat. Minor fix to the assistant when you attach a file that isn't an image (like a PDF).
- Copy text from chat. You can now select and copy text from chat messages and the input, including on iOS.

Improved
- Tips while you render. While a render or video is generating, you'll now see a short tip — a feature highlight with a link to the matching guide — so the wait is time well spent.
- Docs. Added a Variations guide on branching a render — varying time of day, location, style, materials, or angle.
Saturday, June 13, 2026
Fixed
- Aspect ratio. Renders now keep your view's aspect ratio even when you use reference materials, instead of occasionally coming back in the wrong shape.
Thursday, June 11, 2026
Fixed
- 3D preview no longer stretches when you resize the window. Resizing the browser window now keeps the 3D model correctly proportioned instead of squashing or stretching it.
Wednesday, June 10, 2026
Improved
- Faster view switching. Flipping between perspectives and renders in the editor is now near-instant — down from roughly 1–1.7 seconds to well under 200ms — with steadier, smoother image loading.
- Clearer errors when a generation fails. Failed renders and video scenes now show the actual reason (for example, an image whose aspect ratio is out of range) instead of a generic failure, plus a reminder that failed generations don't use any of your credits.
Fixed
- Video catches unsupported aspect ratios up front. Adding an image whose aspect ratio falls outside the supported range for video now warns you with a clear message before submitting, instead of failing after the fact.
- Your language sticks across refreshes. Your selected language now persists when you reload the page, and a few language-mismatch glitches on load are gone.

New
- Revit export guide. A new Revit tab sits alongside the SketchUp guide with step-by-step instructions for exporting your model (including the Leia plugin for getting GLB out of Revit).
Monday, June 8, 2026
New
- Replace models in 3D scenes. Swap an imported 3D object for a new GLB, GLTF, or OBJ without rebuilding the scene. Existing placements keep their position, scale, and rotation, and replacements save back to the project automatically.
Improved
- View links for collaboration. Each project view can now be opened with a direct link, making it easier for multiple people to jump to the exact view they are discussing in the same project.
- Smoother 3D project loading. Loading existing 3D projects is now clearer and more responsive.
Fixed
- Billing state while your plan loads. Paid features no longer briefly behave like Free while subscription data is still loading; plan labels, downloads, Enhance, and render settings wait for the real billing state before acting.

Improved
- Video. A new Video entry in the left sidebar creates a blank project and opens the video editor. Video-only projects (no renders) now show up in your library — the card and sidebar open them straight into the video editor, with the opening frame and a ▶ play badge — and the New Scene picker lets you use your own uploaded images, not just renders.
- Share links can include source views. The share picker now lets you include the uploaded input images/views behind a project, not just renders and videos. Recipients can view them in the shared gallery and leave pinned comments directly on those images.
- Sidebar on mobile. The sidebar now opens as a drawer on small screens, with open and close controls in the project library, editor navigation, and new-project flow.

New
- New navigation sidebar. A left sidebar gives you quick access to your projects and a Create menu (Render / 3D Scene). Inside a project it tucks away and reveals on hover so it never gets in the way.
- One-click 3D scenes. A new 3D Scene entry creates a blank 3D project and drops you straight into the editor, ready to import your model.
Wednesday, June 3, 2026
Improved
- Faster 3D previewer. Large, detailed models now load and navigate much more smoothly — heavy scenes that used to stutter stay responsive.
- New 3D viewer settings. A settings button in the 3D viewer lets you toggle shadows and set the sun's position, plus performance options to balance quality and speed.

New
- Project cards now show 3D, video, and render badges. Your project library shows a 3D badge on any project with an uploaded model, a video badge once a clip has been generated, and a small render count so you can tell at a glance how many renders each project holds.
- 3D projects open in the 3D editor. Opening a project that has a 3D model now takes you straight to the 3D view instead of the render view. See 3D Preview.
Fixed
- Better previews for 3D projects. A project built from a 3D model now shows a thumbnail of the model on its card and takes its name from the uploaded file (e.g.
casa_rosa.glb→ "casa_rosa"). - 3D Preview. Your uploaded model now previews during setup (instead of a sample house), clicking the map no longer flashes a grey screen, and projects created without a location save correctly. See 3D Preview.

New
- Share. Turn any project into an interactive link — recipients can flip through renders and videos, fly through the 3D model, and leave pinned comments, all without an editor account. Works on every plan, including Free. See Share.
- Thumbs up/down on every render. A 👍 / 👎 button in the editor toolbar lets you rate any render in one click; tapping 👎 opens a quick comment box so you can tell us what went wrong. We read every piece of feedback and ship fixes as fast as we can — your taps directly shape what we improve next.
Billing
- New Basic and Studio plans. Pro is no longer the only paid tier. Basic ($19/mo, 120 credits/mo, 20 credits/day cap, rollover up to 1,200) is for occasional users who want paid features without committing to higher monthly volume. Studio ($99/mo, 1,000 credits/mo, no daily cap, rollover up to 10,000) is for studios and high-volume teams. Both include all paid features (no watermark, Video, Copy Render, priority queue). Basic does not support extra credit top-ups — upgrade to Pro or Studio for that. See Plans and Pricing.
- Switch plans from inside the app. A new Change your plan dialog lets paid subscribers move between Basic, Pro, and Studio (or between monthly and annual on the same tier). Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period.
- Plan picker now shows all three tiers side-by-side with a shared credits comparison table, so you can see exactly what each plan includes before subscribing or switching.
- Welcome message uses your actual plan name — "Welcome to Basic!", "Welcome to Pro!", or "Welcome to Studio!" — instead of always saying Pro.

Improved
- "Chat with human" moved into the user menu. The support chat shortcut is no longer a standalone button in the top bar — open the avatar menu (top-right) → Chat with human for the same one-click access to in-app support.

Billing
- Buy extra credits without leaving the app. When you run out mid-flow as a Pro subscriber, an "out of credits" dialog now offers a Buy extra credits button. Top up at $0.20/credit with $10 / $20 presets or a custom amount (min $5). Extras share the same balance as your monthly allowance.
- Automatic recharge (auto top-up). Optionally enable an automatic recharge that fires when your credit balance falls below a threshold you set. Configurable amount, capped at 10 recharges per month, email confirmation on every recharge, disable any time. See Plans and Pricing → Automatic recharge.
- New in-app
/settings/billingpage. The avatar menu's billing entry now opens a dedicated billing page inside the app with plan summary, credit balance breakdown (monthly vs. purchased), buy-more-credits CTA, auto-recharge controls, and a link to the Stripe portal for payment methods and invoices.

New
- 3D Preview · Flatten terrain. Mark a polygon on the satellite view to wipe out existing buildings or obstacles before placing your model. Floor material and elevation are adjustable. See 3D Preview.
- OBJ is now confirmed as a supported import format alongside GLB and GLTF. See Supported file formats.
Improved
- Renders show downloaded and enhanced badges so you can see at a glance which ones you've already exported or upscaled.
- Tooltips on every button in the viewer's bottom toolbar.
- The 3D Preview onboarding card now shows up only the first time you open it on a device.
Fixed
- 3D models snap correctly onto the terrain.
- The submit button no longer overlaps the model popup on large screens.
- Internal configuration tags no longer leak into chat messages.
Monday, April 27, 2026
Billing
- Pricing and credits migration is live. Existing legacy subscriptions keep their original benefits. See Plans and pricing.
- The paywall now shows the credit cost of each generation up front.
Improved
- Resolution adjusts automatically when you switch the model, so you can't end up with an unsupported combination.
Fixed
- Enhance is properly blocked when you don't have enough credits.
Friday, April 24, 2026
New
- Enhance creates a new render as a child of the original instead of overwriting it. You can compare before and after, and go back any time. See Refine and iterate.
- Documentation is now available in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
- If you sign in without any projects, one is created for you automatically.
Improved
- Interior views skip the Location field, since it didn't affect the result.
- Footer support is now an Intercom chat button (replacing the email link).
